Welcome to the website of Timperley Probus Club. We are a group of retired and semi retired professionals and businessmen who meet on alternate Wednesday mornings. We have just celebrated our 25th year anniversary
and have met traditionally at Branksome Hall, Clay Lane, Timperley, but due to the Hall's redevelopment we have moved, on a temporary basis, further down Clay Lane to Bowdon Rugby Club, WA15 7AF. Construction work is taking a while, but we are now hoping to
be back at Branksome in 2022.
During 'Lockdown' we successfully carried out meetings by Zoom and Committee Members kept in contact with members by phone, which worked well. We returned to face-to-face meetings mid 2021 whilst
acknowledging good social distancing protocols.
We meet at 10.00 for 10.30 a.m. for Coffee and Biscuits and after a chance to socialise there is a talk by an invited speaker at 10.30 a.m. This normally lasts about an hour after which
there is time for questions. The talks cover a wide variety of interesting subjects and topics as you can see from the list of past talks on the List of Speakers page.
We have a walking/luncheon group that normally meets on alternate
Wednesdays for a walk of around 3-4 miles, for those who wish to participate, or simply to have a lunch at a suitable venue.
On Monday and Thursday mornings members play bowls in the summer and snooker in the winter
There
are organised visits to many places of interest over the year and there are a number of lunches/dinners each year, all are available to members partners and friends.
We are a friendly club and welcome new members, so if you would
like to come to a meeting as our guest without charge or obligation then you are invited to do so for the first two meetings. If you are interested please contact the club secretary David Owen on 0161 973 9648 or via email at dglentonowen@gmail.com
