Some of the things we do

Club Meetings

We meet every alternate Wednesday morning and members generally arrive at around 10.00 am to get together with other members for a coffee/tea and biscuits. At 10.30 we have a talk from an invited speaker and this will be on any of a wide range of interesting subjects. Details of both previous and future arranged talks are shown on the 'Speakers' page

A group of members meet every Monday morning at 10am at Timperley Village Club for a game of Bowls in summer and Snooker in winter.  It is a social event; many of the group had never played either Bowls or Snooker before. All members are invited to join us, new players are always welcome.

On Wednesday mornings, when there is not a meeting,  a group of members go for a gentle 3/5 mile walk ending up with an enjoyable lunch at a nearby Pub.

Interested members meet every 3 months to discuss any problems that they may have encountered tracing their genealogy. There is no fixed agenda and members can raise any subject so that they can benefit from other members knowledge and personal experience. It is a useful meeting for those wishing to start to trace their family history.

Visits of special interest are often arranged and these are open to members and their guests.  Recent trips have included a Canal Boat Cruise, tour of Manchester Town Hall,Private Guided Tour of John Rylands Library,Cheethams School of Music followed by lunchtime recital. Lancaster Castle, World of Glass, Bridgewater Hall, etc; Details of past and future planned events and holidays are shown on the 'Events/Visits/News' page.
